Have serious fun and put your skills to the test this summer in the most demanding multi-disciplined sport in the world. Lifesaving Sport has grown over the past several years and is now recognized as a competitive sport by the International Olympic Committee. It is recommended that participants have their Swimmer 4 or equivalent to join this program.

We strive to help you in your quest to find the perfect activities to keep your child busy in a fun, safe, educational and exciting environment. The Parent Handbook will outline program information and expectations. Please review and ensure that your child is aware of what is expected of them, other participants and staff.

Program Conduct and Goals We aim to provide enjoyable activities in a safe and positive environment. Lunches should be Nut-Free! Pack a litterless lunch, snacks and drinks daily. We suggest a reusable water bottle no glass please so children can fuel up and have the energy to go, go, go! Due to the number of nut-related allergies, peanut butter, nuts and any foods that contain nut by-products will not be allowed at camp. Pack your lunches with care. Staff may walk the children to other locations in the city, including the beach or park. In the case of location change due to inclement weather, campers may be bused to a safe place.

Monday is Mail Day! Extended care is now an optional, additional fee you can add to your camp registration. This is an additional service, separate from the regular day camp program. Extended care is only available at applicable locations and will be noted in camp descriptions. Campers requiring medication at camp need to have a Medication Release Form signed. Watch for the pizza symbol on our camps. This means a complimentary slice will be provided on the Friday of the camp.

Please ensure to still send your child with snacks and drinks that day. Extreme Heat Days Not all camp locations have access to air conditioning. Staff will ensure children are in shaded areas, have access to water and will focus on low intensity games and activities on extreme heat days. On these days be sure to pack extra water. Remember, your children are at camp. Their clothes should be comfortable and able to withstand the rigors of camp life!

Please ensure that everything your child brings to camp, including clothing, is labelled with their full name. Electronic devices are not permitted at camp. The Littlest Warriors program is a fun and active introduction to basic movement skills manipulation, locomotion and stability designed to enable our littlest athletes to accomplish more challenging skills and movements in later years. Children will learn beginner-level gymnastic movement patterns with a focus on basic skills and an emphasis on fun! Using the progressive model, kids will learn the game of tennis faster and easier than ever before. With modified balls, nets and rackets, coaches introduce kids to the sport of tennis through the PlaynLearn approach making the 60 minutes action packed and filled with FUN. Friendship Lab is a special program designed for youth with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health disorders to promote socialization, self-esteem, goal setting, and cooperative play. This course is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time.

It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. This garden program gives kids an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of growing vegetables in the garden. Children will develop a plan, plant a variety of vegetable seeds, watch produce grow, and most importantly, reap the benefits of the harvest. Children become enthusiastic about eating fruits and vegetables, being respectful of the environment, and actively involved in making positive contributions to their community. Kayaks and lifejackets are supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own. This progressive program is designed to develop increased body awareness, coordination, flexibility and strength. Children will learn beginner level gymnastics movement patterns. Parks, Recreation and Culture partners with the Orillia Tennis Club to bring you this tennis program. Take up a new sport and spend time with your child.

This program will cover the fundamentals of tennis including forehand, backhand, volley, serve, and etiquette. Please note that the fee is per person and the parent must register as well as the child. Our Sports for Shorts program helps to ensure children build the confidence and competence they need to participate in sports, allowing them to become healthy, happy and active for life!

Your child will be engaged and active while developing the fundamentals of different sports. Players will learn basic fundamentals on all the primary strokes and basic tactical teaching.
